Calling all TTers from wk of 12/10 for updates!
« on: December 31, 2007, 05:51:00 pm »
Hello from the flatlands!!  I saw my PS today also.  Finally got my second drain removed.  Everything is healing very nicely. told today to massage, massage, massage. I still have to take it easy the next few weeks because of the hysterectomy, but I have been trying to stay active by walking. I am completely amazed at how I look (so is my DH!!)  Went to a swimsuit store yesterday and was able to try on any style of bottom I wanted-NEVER been able to do that my whole life.  I still feel like i\'m going to wake up from a dream.  My outside matches my inside!!  I\'m glad to hear everyone is doing well!!---

All is well here although the stomach bug about killed me!  The vomitting hurt much worse than any of the surgery pain!  Glad to see that you all are doing well.

I love my flat stomach!  I haven\'t had too much swelling, which is good since I am very active.  I\'ve started walking daily but it\'s killing me not to be able to run or bike until the 6 week mark.  PS said no exercise other than walking :(

My only concern is the left side of the incision...I\'m afraid I may have to have a revision.  I\'m thinking it\'s a little puppy ear :)

Are any of you using scar creams?  If so, what?  I\'m thinking of using Kelo-cote, which my dermatologist (who is addicted to plastic surgery) recommended.

Am I the only one who isn\'t seeing their PS until 6 weeks?---

That\'s one of the most inspiring and sweetest things I\'ve heard anybody say--"My outside matches my inside!"  Thanks for the thought!  I hope mine do after jan. 31!!!---

happy new year ladies!
it sounds like everyone is doing relatively well.  that\'s good.  i\'m doing pretty darn good.  still haven\'t seen my incision...covered in tape.  go back to PS on 3 Jan, guess i\'ll get to see it then.  skin has been itching...lotion helps.  been mostly wearing yoga pants and tshirts around the house.  we went to a neighbors to celebrate new years and i only had one pair of pants that would fit...they were all too big.  i\'m down approx 8 pounds, but my waist is so tiny.  i go back to work on Monday.  i will need some belts wear with my pant suits.  :)---

Hey TY!!!!

I had my surgery on the 13th and I am sooo happy w/ my flat tummy!!
I have had a lil swelling but nothing bad, can\'t wait to get back into my pre-op pants though, they are a lil tight, the binder don\'t help much though.
but over all feeling great!!!
I\'m glad you thought of this though, it\'s cool to see how everybodys doing!---

Hey girls!!

I went in on 12/10 and am doing ok!  I am totally loving my results, and have already been out on the town prancing around in tight(er) tops that I never would have been able to pull off before!  I had my drains removed at 2wks, and haven\'t had any swellhell (knock on wood) days or had any itching.  Weird how everyone is different.  I love my incision, it\'s hidden by all the bathings suits I own, and my belly button - well - I\'m just happy that I can see it for the first time in my life!!

My main complaint is a headache that I\'ve had for the last four days.  It\'s almost dibilitating, and makes me SO tired.  I haven\'t slept well for over a week, and I start work (a new job!) tomorrow and I\'m a little worried.

I just am so happy with the results so far, the only thing that will make it better is PS clearance to go to the gym!  I\'ve seen him four times already, and have another appt on Jan 9th, when I believe that we\'ll start talking scar therapy and stuff.  Otherwise, I wear my binder 24/7 and am really really ecstatic with my decision!

Thanks for starting this thread Ty!

Have a great week my TT sisters!!

Hey Ty!!
You read my mind...I was thinking about all the girls from our week just today.

My update...overall I feel great. My tummy is healing nicely. My breasts on the other hand are having a bit of a setback. They are very sore right now. I think it is from friction & my kids always being on them. Also, I have a small infection at the base of my right breast where the internal stich made it\'s way to the surface. Pretty yucky but looks like it is healing.

I am all clear for exercise...but like you, I should start with just walking. I have been doing a little bit but really need to do more. I am re-focused on my weight loss and have been on-point all week!! The scale actually went under 120lbs for the 1st time in 20 yrs yesterday. 119lbs!!! Woo-Hoo!! I still have more to lose to really get the results that I paid for...if you kwim?

I am not itchy anymore, I have been applying Eurcerin moisturizing creme at least 2x per day....this is also when I massage the incision. My PS recommended doing this.

I went back to work last week on Thursday, just 2 days so it was managable and I don\'t go back again until Wednesday. But, I am back to being a mom 110% of the time.

Hope you have a Happy New Year!!
xoxo

Hi All My Sistahs!

I had my TT on 12/13 and I cannot tell a lie - it has been tough\":-(\"

I had a lot of pain and my breathing was really shallow for a few days. I went to the ER last week about it (at the insistance of friends) and was told by the ER doc, after a cat scan that I did not have a blood close - Halleluhjah! - but I did need to do more deep breathing to help expand my lungs better. I had also been running a low grade temp every night but that has since stopped. I still have a lot of bruising, swelling and a senoma which I am sure my PS will drain when I see her next week.

Now, I am just mainly tired. I sleep about 10 hours a day and night and I don\'t have much energy. But, it is getting better. I cannot imagine those of you who are back to work already! wooohoooooo! Good for ya!

This has been a tough journey for me but I am really beginning to see how cute the new me is going to be LOL

This board has really been a comfort and an inspiration for me and I thank for God for you all!

Happy New Year!

Oh girl...I am sorry it\'s been such a rough ride.

Rest, rest, rest. I still find myself sleeping extra hours after being up awhile. Hoping I can work full days without being completely exhausted.

Just know that things will get better each passing day!

Keep up posted and Happy New Year!

Peace to you,
Ty

Jen, sorry to hear you were so sick...that is awful. I have been lucky so ar...knock on wood!

I saw my dr. on day 8, to remove the staples, stiches & drains, then one week later, I was scheduled to see him again on the 16th...which would be another 3 weeks but now with my infection I will see him this Wednesday as well.

Re: scar creams-my PS said none were necessary. Massage was the only requirement. For the itchies & redness he recommended a moisturizer. It has helped alot. I have some merderma I may use down the line, once all is healed.

XOXO---

Hey Girls!!
I had my surgery on the 11th and I feel great. Im ready to go back to work. I\'ve not used my binder for two days. Though my lower back gets sore I can get through the day ok.  My scar is healing nice. I think Im swollen a bit and I did measure my hips and waist to my pre op size ... I was kind of suprised that I lost inches in my hips but gained in my waist????  Also I don\'t know about you all but I can\'t stop eating. I\'ve been like crazy....I don\'t know if it\'s the holidays or bordum or what I need to go back to work and a normal schedule so I can stop eating!!!! Hope everyone else is doing well and keeps us all posted!!
