Jen --
My first bike ride was a little bit shakey -- only that I could feel this \'tightness\' across the tummy. Not really pain. I was surprised though that the strength was still there and I was rolling along good. Not at top speed, but just so enjoyed being back on that bike! On the first ride out I didn\'t do any major hill climbing, pretty much stayed on the flats. This past week, during the week between 5th and 6th week post-op -- it was full blast ahead, and hill climbing was fine. Still I can\'t say I\'m quite as strong as the day before my surgery on that ride! But almost there. On yesterday\'s ride, I remember thinking to myself, gee I do not even feel like I\'ve had abdominal surgery, I can\'t even feel any tightness, pulling or anything. Leaning forward a little on a road bike, that position feels very comfortable.
I\'m surprised your doc won\'t let you go on a trainer indoors yet! I would think this week you could do that. There is no impact with that, and you won\'t be in danger of having to watch what is going on around you . . .
But very soon, you too will be back into all these fun activities and exercising like you always had! I thought it was never going to come... and I hated waiting for these days so I could get back into it.
I did a little bit more \'running\' today -- like 2.5 blocks down the street. Not far, but still it is a start. I just want to take the running thing VERY slow for some time yet.
It is snowing and blowing like crazy here tonight -- only 21 degrees. Won\'t be out there on that bike tomorrow. Can\'t wait for Florida and WARM weather!---
