Nipple or crease incision
« on: April 29, 2006, 07:13:00 pm »
Both incision is painful I\'m afraid\"\" sorry,!! I chose areola with the hope that the scar will be camouflage by the lines on the dark circle. With the crease I was afraid the scar will rise up on the breast once the implants are settled, but these are personal preference , I\'ve seen many ladies have beautiful scar.---

I have a crease incision and am well pleased with it. I am soon to be 2 years post op and it is "barely there" anymore. Take care and good luck. VickieM:)---

Nipple or crease incision

Hello,
I have the crease which is only 3 weeks old and so far is healing really well. It will barely be noticable once healed.  My crease is situated where my breast meets my rib area so there\'s no chance of it rising up when the implants settle.

I was a little skeptical about going through the nipple as I was worried that I may lose nipple sensation and I could\'t live with that.  HTH.

Kellie.---

I would not make a choice based on pain, I would do it because it is the right choice for me. Some feel the nip incision hides the incision better. If you have plenty of tissue your breast will drape over the one under the breast.---

The PS can see what they\'re doing better, and the scars are tucked under the breast, not right there smack dab in the middle of your breast. Also, if you plan to nurse in the future, an areola incision runs a higher risk of damaging your ability.---

I chose the Nipple also because I felt it would camoflouge the scar, I got to see the incision a couple of weeks ago and they look great you almost can\'t tell and it was only 3 weeks at the time. I will have the steri strips remove on thursday it will be 6 weeks for me then and I can\'t wait to see how they look. I never really felt it was very painful mostly uncomfortable, and the nipples are a little more sensitive then before.

hi there! I\'ve had both, first time areola and it healed beatifuly and this time I went crease as I didn\'t want to take a chance of not heaing as well with the second areola insicion and so far it looks great! not to worried about it showing as the breast usually draps over the crease anyway. as far a s sensation , I lost mine for a little while the first time but not this time , you can loose sensation either way , nipple or crease is no garranty, hope this helps!xoxo---

I have crease and at one year the scar has become invisible. You couldn\'t see it anyway, the breast would cover it. It\'s just a preference thing. I was just too nervous to try nipple area.---

Sweetie - have you had children already?  If you have then either incision is great......if you haven\'t, then getting areola incision tends to lessen your chances for successful nursing, if you opt to do that.  Just something to be considered.  Also, along with most surgeries, your nerves will be cut during the procedure, and I personally didn\'t want to take the chance of that area becoming numb.  Mine actually got hypersensitive (which wasn\'t too much fun) - however, after I was all healed I have 100% of the feeling back in my breast, and I have had 4 BA\'s all with the crease incision.  ;-)

But more than those examples, is your decision on where you would like the incision to be....the areola does heal incredibly fast, so that is a good thing. :)---
