The staff that took care of me after my surgery had cracker and juice for me. It felt really good to have something in my tummy as my surgery was aslo at noon!! When I left the surgery center it was almost 4pm!  you might want to ask if they can give you something for the nausea, I know that some ladies here do get somesort of pill.
Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted on your recovery!---

I had a hysterectomy and my bladder lifted 3 years ago and was under for 3 1/2 hours and I did not get sick, I felt like I was going to but did not. After my BA I did get sick a couple of times and I was only under for 1 1/2 hours, both surgeries they gave me something for it and one time it worked and one time it did not. Just let your PS know that you are concerned and they will give you something that will sometimes help you with it. I actually had just as much trouble with my blood pressure it took 3 hours to get me out of recovery because my blood pressure drops so low, I can\'t have surgery that late in the day because of that, I have to go so long with out fluids and that makes it worse. Both times I spent 3 hours in recovery for that reason. They won\'t give you pain meds until you blood pressure gets to a reasonable level , it really stinks.

I couldnt eat after midnight the night before my surgery. Yeah, I was starving but nauseous at the same time. Dont over due the food intake as that can upset your stomach too.---

They have drugs they can inject if you do. I don\'t think it is really any different then any other major surgery.---

I received 2 anti-nausea meds put in my IV.  I\'m alergic to the most common med, compazine, but the 2 I received worked great.  Make sure you tell the ps that you get sick easy and that there is a history for you or for family.  That way they\'ll give you 2 meds just to make sure you won\'t get sick.;-)---

If you are concerned, they can give you anti-nausea meds in your IV line ;-)
Most gals experience nausea from not eating enough when taking their pain meds. I am guilty of that one, but made sure I ate when I took them for my revision. No sick tummies the second time around :)---

I KNOW that I always wake up vomiting or nauseated from being put under. I let my doctor know and they made sure to put the anti-nausea meds in my IV. I had NO PROBLEM afterwards with feeling even slightly sick. So, tell them what you want! \"\"

Hugs!

If you normally don\'t get sick then this shouldn\'t be different.
