full recovery from a major facial surgery does take several months, this is not unique to dr marten... depending on how you heal you may be comfortable presenting yourself in public in a few days or not for a few weeks. He advises ppl to give themselves flexibility not to be seen for 3 or 4 weeks so that they feel at ease.
More fat grafting prolongs the swelling distortion. Having seen several of dr marten\'s facelift patients in the flesh though, if you are a good candidate for his technique then let him do the fat also, he has a great eye for how to add beauty to the face - female or male. Helen\'s characterization is consistent with my experience - all the f/l patients I\'ve seen look different/better than their youthful pics.
That all said, no doc has a successful outcome with every patient, and there have been some postings here from people who have seen patients that are unhappy, or who look "lifted". Do your research and understand what your face needs/doesn\'t need and whether what dr M has to offer is right for you.
