Mentalis muscle resuspension
« on: January 27, 2011, 12:24:11 am »
Hi,

About 3 years ago I had a chin implant removed via an intraoral incision and the surgeon that removed the implant didn't reattach the mentalis muscle back in it's correct position. Now I suffer from lower lip incompetance ie. when my lower lip is at rest it doesn't cover my bottom teeth like it used to before the operation.

I have been doing some research and have come across Dr Yaremchuk and Dr Zide who can potentially fix this. I know that Dr Yaremchuk does a mentalis muscle resuspension via a submental incision whereas Dr Zide, I believe, uses an intraoral approach.

Another couple of surgeons I have come across that apparently know how to resuspend the mentalis muscle is Dr Larry Wolford, a maxillofacial surgeon in Texas and Dr Lucian Ion in London.

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that has has a mentalis muscle resuspension with any of these doctors and was it successful?
