narrowing down porex chin implant
« on: April 22, 2011, 04:13:07 am »
Hey everyone, a few years ago I had a chin implant put in by Dr Y which Im pretty pleased with, however Dr. Zide, the previous surgeon, shaved 5mm off the bottom of my chin to adjust for length. Well, the height is good now, but the implant now conforms to this new bone structure underneath, and as u can imagine, its not as pointy but is more broad and square since the inferior border of chin (the chin tip) was shaved off. Dr. Y told me he could take down the width on the sides a bit, and I was just wondering if anyone else ever needed to have their porex chin implant shaved down for being too wide and how the results were. I was thinking that genioplasty might be an option but i know Dr. Y doesnt like them because they tend to carry unpredictable symmetry issues. I was also thinking a button style implant, but i would've thought that if it was appropriate, Dr. Y wouldve mentioned that as an alternative and he did not. Need some input or pics here guys..thanks!
