I had .75cc\'s in my upper lip alone when I went for my 2nd round and I STILL needed to have a lip suspension to have a decent (well it\'s nice NOW) upper lip. A good injector will also use his/her judgment when dealing with each individual. What Bailey said about the \'rule of thumb\' is true....but you\'re just talking about a teeney tiny bit more, almost imperceptable.

I knew Restylane was temporary, but man. . .it\'s definitely wayyyy too temporary--haha.

I am reallyinterested in this Silikon1000 stuff.  The whole not being approved by the FDA thing really, really freaks me out, though.  I know it\'s permanent, which is what I want, but that also really scares me because I know there\'s a chance I could get lumps (I had a tiny one from my second injection, but he said to "massage it out," which I never really did because it hurt pretty  bad, but no one could notice it anyway) and I can\'t imagine having something worse than that for a week, let alone the rest of my life!

I just feel like it\'s shady?  I live in DE, right by Philly.  Does anyone know of the closest surgeon who performs these injections?

GREATLY appreciated if anyone has any info.

Cassie - welcome to the forum.....actually Restylane is temporary, so it does dissapate fast.  Silikon 1000 is already approved for other indications - the dr.\'s use it a lot in retina detachment.

This products has been used "off label" for years for cosmetic enhancement.  I actually have no idea if or when this product will ever gain the actual approval of lip augmentation, however, if you are interested in getting this - make sure you do your homework and read all the pros and cons that can happen.

I had enough of spending good money after bad with temporary fillers, and decided to take the plunge, and it has been the best decision I have ever made.  I love it....nothing compares to it\'s softness or how natural it feels.
Make sure you go to a dr. that exercises caution with giving this filler as injection, as the best rule is to go LOW AND SLOW.  Most dr. will not inject anymore than .4 to .5ccs. at one time.  You need to wait at least 4-6 weeks inbetween rounds, to allow for your own collagen to formulate around the silikon beads, so they will not migrate.
