Abdominal Liposuction Problems

Have you been massaging it? If not, start. I use a roller to massage, but other women use other massaging tools. Whatever you like, as long as you massage. It takes up to 6 months to see final results so give it time. You\'re also still swollen at this time.

Good luck!---

Hi!

I had liposuction on my abdomen exactly 4 weeks ago.  My belly button
looks really weird now, it is long instead of round.  Also, the area under
my belly button is wavy and lumpy looking. I was not an overweight person
at 5\'3" and 125 pounds, but had a little "pooch".  Is this normal?

You aren\'t healed yet, give it some time and work out on it.  You should have a pouch once the swelling is gone.  Not sure what to say about your belly button.

Thanks everyone for the advice!  I really appreciate it.  I am now 7 weeks post op form abdominal, inner and outer thigh liposuction.  My stomach still looks a little lumpy under the belly button, and I have some hard spots around the areas where the PS went in with the cannula. How long should I be massaging the areas?  And I am massaging with my hands and fingertips, is that sufficient?

Thank you!

Swelling is going to distort a lot of things and it can take a long time for all swelling to be gone ... i had visible swelling for 9 months following my lipo.  The lumpiness can be minimized by doing massaging to the areas that are looking lumpy... it helps break it up, and smooths it out...

Hi!! My belly button area looked like what you\'re describing after I had my mini tummy tuck. It took awhile for the swelling to go away....still comes back at times. Be sure to massage the area frequently, as that will help with the lumps and bumps. Happy healing!!---

Swelling will do very strange things to your appearance, including your bellybutton... you are only 4 weeks out so you have a long way to go in recovery... I would give it a few months, like 3-6 and I am sure you will see your BB go back to normal...

I massaged them for many many months... about 5-6 months, till the bumps were gone... every night for as long as I could stand it, or later on, for about 30 minutes a night... my hands eventually got tired and I graduated to buying a massager that I used on the areas... this would have been too harsh for me when I first started massaging though...

It's not bad and worth to try.
