In the end my husband sucked it up and took me to my lipo appointment. I am one day post-op and he has taken such amazingly good care of me. He has made all of my meals, kept track of my meds and has not left my side except to shower since he brought me home yesterday afternoon.

He freaked out because he thinks I am perfect as I am and did not want me to do anything "unnatural" to myself. But in the end I think he realized that it was more important to be by my side.

Thank you guys that provided advice and support. I was really freaking out when DH said he would not go. Glad he changed his mind.

I had abs, thighs and flanks done yesterday. In at 10:00a and on my way home by 1:45p. I am sore, but have been able to go down to extra strength Tylenol for the pain.

Does anyone know of a home health aide service for plastic surgery in the Washington, DC area?

I am scheduled for lipo on Friday and my husband just informed me that he does not think he can be my support person as he feels very strongly that I should not do this.

Unfortunately, we are relatively new to the area, have no family here and no friends close enough that I would ask them to do this.

I am wondering if there is some kind of service where I can hire someone to drive me to and from the appointment and stay overnight.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Knowing in advance that my bf would be working long hours I made sure I had lots of bottled water, crystal lite, breakfast bars and granola bars at arms reach as well as my blackberry, meds, laptop, etc handy and I was fine on my own.

Going to the bathroom was a bit of a hassle but I managed. Do you think you really need home care? I had abs and flanks. Maybe if you are getting more you may not be able to manage. I had 4.5 litres removed.

Good luck hun.

hi,

when i had my tt, i got a non-emergency ambulance service (stretcher) ride to a skilled nursing facility.  many snf\'s allow short-term stays (less than a week), check your phone book or ask people from the DC area to recommend snf\'s and medical transport companies.  it\'s worth it, IMHO.
