TT vs. abdominal liposculpture?
« on: July 23, 2007, 03:10:00 pm »
Hi guys,

I had to cancel my TT in June due to various reasons...I have the opp. to do abdominal liposculpure now...just wanting some feedback on the differences. I have 2 kids and can\'t do the TT and watch them on my own...it seems the lipo is less painful and recovery shorter? How about results?

Hi,
although I don\'t have any personel experience I would like to reccomend you one special website liposuction, where you can find the procedure descriptions, differences, advantages and disadvantages and you can consult plastic surgeons all above.
Good luck

Ohh no, I don\'t know where you got the idea that Lipo was better.  I had lipo and couldnt even take care of myself for about a week and it took 3 weeks before I could put my own shoes on.  Yes the TT is a cut and requires being careful when bending and picking up things but you will have more movement and less time spending lying down.  I am going for the TT this winter because it is always better to get these things done in the colder months due to the amount of stuff you have to wear and the hot months make it worse.  I am have the TT due to the extra loose skin from the lipo.  I knew I would probably have to have the TT but wanted to see if I could tighten up without it.  But after having 2 kids and the stretch marks I am not lucky enough.  Lipo was the most pain I have ever felt.  It was worse than having kids because of the time of pain and the time it takes to heal.  My legs are still sensative to the touch and hurt when anyone touches them and I had lipo about 6-7 weeks ago.  It isn\'t the answer I am sure you were looking for but it is the honest one.  I will not ever have lipo again but will have the TT and breast Augmentation.  I have a large pain tollerance and was shocked on how much it really hurt.

I think honestly, you are WAY wrong on that count... the lipo is WAY more PAINFUL and the recovery is LONGER... also, the lipo will leave any loose skin much looser...

My opinion... you are making a mistake on doing the lipo instead of the TT, esp. since your assumptions are pretty much wrong... I have had both done... and the TT was by far a MUCH easier recovery... it is less trauma to the body....

Best of luck with your decision...;-)

My PS told me that lipo was less recovery time how ever, I\'m not so sure. From reading some of the posts, lipo could be the more painful surgery. I wanted a TT, but I\'m not a good canidate, I don\'t have enought skin. In my pS office, a girl that had the lipo done said it feels like a deep bruise. I\'m getting lipo in Sept. Good luck---

I guess pain is personal because I have never found Lipo to be THAT painful.  I have had it 3 times - small amounts like inside thighs first - under local anesthesia.  It felt ticklish to me.  ANYWAY - the pain was like a bad sunburn.  I had the abdominal region done on a Thursday for Friday and was back to work easily on Monday.

My former boss had a TT - she had tubes in her sutures and was hunched over from her skin being pulled so tight.  She was a mess and regretted having the surgery until about 2 weeks went by.  She was in PAIN - and she didn\'t need any lipo - she just had stretched out skin from having 3 children and she was in fantastic physical shape - she worked out every day.

If you skin is okay then you are lucky and lipo won\'t be so bad.  Gosh if you could have children then you know pain,  this won\'t even be in the ballpark!

Goodluck
