Can anyone tell me who are the best liposuction docs? Is the a top list
like there is for rhinoplasty?
Hi there, I don\'t think it\'s wise to follow those lists. I say this only because much of the heat that is generated is done so, not by great work, but by great publicists. A personal recommendation will have much more validity then press.
Realistically, liposuction is a pretty basic surgical procedure that doesn\'t require the same of kind artistry and aesthetic eye that rhinoplasty might. As long as the surgeon is technically skilled and knows how to use a scale it\'s a pretty straightforward procedure (as long as you are a good liposuction candidate) What I personally looked for was someone that that was VERY aggressive and would do their very best to make sure I was as smooth and even as possible.
Many famous surgeons like Garth Fischer are not necessarily really gifted. They just pay a lot of money to publicists every month and those publicists get them into magazines and TV shows.
I have paid top dollar to a well known surgeon (for a BA) and have had mediocre results. Also the first time I had lipo I went to Dr. Brent Moelleken of extreme makeover fame. He charged me a small amount because he was in the beginning of his career and was working under another PS and hadn\'t been on Extreme Makeover yet. Today he\'s considered one of the TOP lipo guys in LA but honestly, he\'s really not that great. This time around I went to Dr. Suzanne Trott. One of my best friends did her general surgery residency with her while she was doing her plastics residency. She told me her work was unbelievable and that she couldn\'t believe how much fat she took out and how amazing the patients looked afterwards. That being said I went to Dr. Suzanne Trott and i am beyond thrilled. Anyway, she\'s still very early in her career and is not that well known yet but I can confidently say she does some of the best lipo I have ever seen. Bottom line, my advice is to get some personal recs from people you know. good luck!
