D BOTH UPPER AND LOWER BLEPHAROPLASY DONE ONE YEAR AGO.  I WILL BE COMPLETELY HONEST ABOUT RECOVERY.  YOUR EYES ARE ALMOST SWOLLEN SHUT FOR A WEEK. BRUISING LASTS FOR 6 WEEKS!  THE DOC SAID A COUPLE OF WEEKS BUT I LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN IN A BAR BRAWL AND LOST FOR ABOUT SIX WEEKS.  HEAVY MAKEUP! THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN, I LOOKED AWFUL BUT FELT GOOD.  THE RESULTS WERE WORTH THE SURGERY, NO ONE TELLS ME I LOOK TIRED OR THAT I NEED A VACTION ANYMORE!

just had the upper lids done on 5/21/03.  I also had laser neck surgery (neck lift).  The first day I clearly was looking like a freak.  The second day eyes were swollen and the left eye turned into a black eye, but not too bad, still swollen.  Today I woke up and less swelling around the stitches.  What happens is that where ever you have something done that causes trauma, the resulting swelling and bruising moves down.  So my black eye is now under my eye entering into my cheek area.  I am told that by the time I go back to work on June 2nd that the stitches will be out and the swelling will be gone.  The bruising will be in the yellow stages and I can use makeup to cover.  I have not told anyone at work and do not want to, so if it still looks like something happened I am going to say that I was in a minor traffic accident and my airbag went off and gave me a black eye as this happens all the time.  I don\'t like lying, but this is my private business and a lot of people have judgements about it.  There is a personal story on this website from a woman who had her upper lids dones in 1986 and still feels that she looks great and that she had a great experience.  Read that.  I post in a few days to tell you more about what\'s happening with my recovery.

days ago I had my surgery.  I have no bruising at all but still a little swollen, mostly undereye at this point.  My stitches were removed yesterday.    Eyes are a little scratchy and dry if I read or use computer for too long.  No pain whatsoever (I only took pain pills the first day) during the whole process... except for a slight headache and body discomfort with having to sleep with head elevated.  I have taken a herbal product called Arnica Montana for bruising & muscle soreness which may have helped to avoid bruising.  I had a forehead injury several years ago and really had two black eyes on that one so expected black eyes with this surgery.  Happily, no problem.  Keeping the head elevated when sleeping and moving about must make a big difference as well.  I am very happy so far.  My only complaint is it is difficult to be sedentary for 3 days.  I have started my morning 3 - 4 mile walks with wrap around sunglasses to protect eyes. I think the doctor and his staff do great work.

Hi.
Hope you have been doing well now!!. I would just like to make a point as i was facing the same kinna of a problem..and that is the medication and recovery depends on a person's health and his/her own internal system. In my case,it took more amount of time as compared to yours and i faced the same kind of difficulties..However,the eyes were sore for a long long time and it has  affected my eye sight as well.Hope you are doing good!!.Wish you luck

I've been considering a lower blepharoplasty for a long time now. I've had "bags" under my eyes for as long as I can remember... I even have them in pictures as a child of about 2-3 years old! I'm tired of looking "tired" all the time, even when I'm not. It really detracts from a natural beauty, that's for sure! Not sure what the procedure or even the cause is for my issue, but between the fear and money factors, I don't suppose I have too much to worry about in the immediate future.
