BRA FOR BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY

 Sewright,

Quite honestly, I didn\'t pay much for the bras.  They were purchased in a K-Mart/Walmart type store and they did have the front closure.  Hanes had a back closure but if you have someone to help you they were comfortable. Bestform had the front closure. My cousin just had a reduction also but her PS had her wear a very flimsy Warner bra after the surgery.  This just shows how different PS are in their thoughts. With regards to the meds, I think they gave me something in my IV.  When I had bunion surgery I remember they gave me a demerol-type drug in the IV prior to the surgery.  I also don\'t recall being \"strapped-in\" at all!  If you have anxiety, I would definitely speak with the PS and tell him very firmly that you want something to relax you.  I was under the impression that all surgeons did that. I\'ve had 3 surgeries in my life (other than C-sections) and I\'ve been given something for each of them to help relax me.  If you have other ?s let me know!

n\'t wait until they say time to go home after operation.  Having anxiety attacks.
Only bra I found was a cotton sports bra, no cup size but hooks in front - not much support but maybe best for at night in bed.  Trying to keep myself busy but husband away this weekend until Sunday night when we drive an hour away to Windsor to stay overnight for 6: a.m. arrivel at hospital and surgery at 8:00 -
another long wait.
Sorry for the downer the waiting is just
too long.

, I had a breast reduction and lift a little over a year ago.  The bra which I was instructed to wear was a standard sports bra with a zipper or hook and eye front closure.  It was the most comfortable and it also held you in place firmly for the first month or so.

I hope this helps and good luck!

hens46 Do you remember what the bra name was as I live in Canada and am having a hard time finding front closure big enough for me.
Also, before going into the OR what are you given for anxiety?  I have called the PS office and they say nothing.  I had a really bad experience in the hospital as a child and fear the OR, the strapping in, etc.  I am going to ask my own Dr. for something but if he does not give it to me what can I insist on when I arrive -for that 2 hour wait.
Thanks all for any replies as I really appreciate.
