« on: May 25, 2007, 09:01:00 pm »
 Marla,

I was wondering if you know anyone who has gone through Dr. Sheen for secondary rhinoplasty...I have heard from a friend that Dr. Sheen is a renowned Plastic surgeon;  I consulted with him a few months ago but didn\'t feel comfortable. WOuld like to find out if you can tell me your experience with him. Can we chat in private?  My email-christinatien@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Christ

r those who are interested in Dr. Sheen, I was a patient of his 2 years ago.  I had the misfortune of having my nose done at age 16, and the results were not very good.  Hence, I saw Dr. Sheen for reconstructive surgery.   Some things he corrected well, and others he made worse. I hate to say this, but he\'s also getting up in years. (70 is my guess.  It think it also depends if it\'s your first nose job...he\'d probably do okay on a first nose job, but remember to tell him you don\'t want an over-sculpted look (unless that\'s what you want).  He over sculpted my tip and it does\'t look very natural.
Also, I would not do two procedures at once--I think one of the procedures will suffer. Good Luck,

Denny

chose Dr. Sheen to perform what I hoped would be the last of four nose surgeries. He came highly recommended by several doctors in Los Angeles who didn\'t feel qualified to perform the surgery themselves.
One year later, words cannot tell you how thrilled I am with the results. I have a very natural looking nose that fits my face and functions better than I could have ever dreamed of.
Maybe I was just lucky, but after having looked at countless pictures of his work, I must say that he is top notch, but nonetheless, a human being. He may make mistakes, or misunderstand what you want, or simply not be able to create your perfect ideal from what he has to work with. But for me, he seemed to accomplish, with relative ease, what 3 others doctors completely botched.
He is not a magician, just a darn good plastic surgeon; a rare commodity these days. I highly recommend him!
(And about him getting old: you better get in to see him before he retires or you\'ll be at the mercy of the rest of the world\'s so-called plastic surgeons!)
Good Luck!

 Robert,
Saw your reply regarding Dr. Sheen on Talk surgery.  I am considering Dr Sheen for secondary rhino but am so confused as I have heard indifference stories about Dr. Sheen.  A few people said he is not a good surgeon.  I would really appreciate it if I could email you directly as I would like your opinion on Dr. sheen.

becca makes a great point. there are board certified plastic surgeons whose specialty is reconstructive procedures...She had her nose done 3 times, i assume each time her surgeons made it worse. A doc like her 4th one (Dr Sheen) is known for fixing mistakes...that doesn\'t ALWAYS mean he is as good doing elective procedures like a rhinoplasty simply because that\'s not what the bulk of his practice entails...remember, a good plastic surgeon must also have the eyes of an artist...enhancement and improvement are not always the same...they both require certain skills...
rule of thumb that I abide by, find the surgeon who does your procedure so much he can do it \"in his sleep\"...not a guarantee but a safeguard...
