Facelift and Rhinoplasty
« on: June 03, 2006, 04:21:00 pm »
would like to have a facelift and a rhinoplasty. I would like to hear from anyone who had both done at the same time. I have gone to several doctors and some say  it done together (6 hours under general anethesia) or have it done as two separate surgeries. I am concerned witht the healing and pain having both done at the same time but on the other hand would like to get it done all at once if possible. Does anyone know of doctors in Santa Barbara CA? Also some doctors say they are Plastic Surgeons and other are Cosmetic Surgeons- does it make a difference?? Hope someone can help!

No, I don\'t know any one else in Santa Barbara but DR. Sheen will and I would trust his opinion...usually MDs who are that specialized associate with a group...You could have 2 surgeons in the OR; after Sheen does your nose the other could do your face. I\'d go with him...he\'s that good and I\'m certain only works with the best MDs...
Keep me posted and do me a favor, if you make an appt. with him, tell me how long it takes to get in...just curious.

 Marla,
I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Sheen for July 9. I would like to have the two surgeries done at the same time. Do you know anyone who has had both done at the same time you could put me in touch with?

There is a hge difference between board certified plastic surgeons and cosmetic surgeons. If you want the best, you have him in your backyard. Dr. Jack Sheen is your man. He\'s a board certified plastic surgeon and his office is on Pueble street in Santa Barbara. He makes every \"best plastic surgeon\" list consistently for his work on noses. I know this because I am writing a consumer guide book on plastic surgery and have complied a list of the best MDS...Sheen is one I hope to include in the book. He is an artist when it comes to noses and someday I hope to have him redo mine...Long ago when I had a rhinoplasty, I knew very little about this specialty; consequently I have lived with a dent in my nose for 25 years. I\'d go to him first for a consultation, tell him you want a facelift too and see what he says.  The two procedures are done together but I warn you, you\'ll be in lots of pain post-op...recovery from either procedure is no walk in the park. If you really want it done, call for an appt...my guess is you\'ll have to wait...you usually do for the really good Docs. Please keep me posted. I live right down the road from you and am up in Santa Barbara all the time. Will be there for the Santa Barbara Writers Conference in just 2 weeks. Good Luck.
